Applied Analysis Inc. (AAI) is a supplier of remote wide area surveillance and reconnaissance products that can significantly benefit oilfield and other energy operations, both small and large. Included are products for remote wide-area exploration for both on-shore and offshore oil and gas fields; remote biofuels monitoring, including open-air algal biofuels; oilfield and other energy-related environmental monitoring, incident characterization and response; and infrastructure monitoring.
The Company's products are groundbreaking in the industry. They offer the unique capability to perform fully remote surveillance and reconnaissance, relying only the imagery acquired by satellites and/or aircraft. The products utilize advanced spectral image exploitation technologies developed by the Company to search for specific energy-related materials and features of interest, many of which are too subtle to be detected by other exploitation technologies. AAI's technologies apply a combination of advanced calibration and detection methodologies, which are able to discriminate and identify materials that are otherwise masked by atmospheric effects and/or the spectral signatures of other coexisting "background" materials. The technologies allow spectral imagery alone to be used to search for key materials and features that previously could only be found with the help of accompanying ground information. Eliminating the need for ground information not only allows many inaccessible and denied areas to be effectively explored and monitored for the first time. It also significantly reduces the financial risk of exploration by reducing or eliminating much of the costly traditional field operations support normally required.
